There are a few ways to avoid Writers Block. It doesn’t mean all you need is a stress ball and to be the best most creative writer on the planet. Most of these tips relate to changing a few simple habits. And keep in mind that most writers only come up with one great idea a day maybe two. Then the rest of the ideas relate to how that idea fits into their existing work.
- Before you start a new story be sure you have an amazing ending. If you know the ending then it’s much easier to figure out how to get there.
- Draw a road map. Before you start writing plot out the main beats of your story. Especially focus on the midpoint and how that affects the journey.
- Title. The title does a lot of important things. Most of all it makes your story marketable. It helps the elevator pitch. For creation a great title implies the theme and message.
- Do a one page synopsis before you start writing. Once you know your main plot points write out a one pager. This helps build out your roadmap.
